Introduction to Claw GRC

Claw GRC is the first governance, risk, and compliance platform built from the ground up for a world where AI agents operate alongside human teams. Traditional GRC tools were designed for humans filling out spreadsheets. Claw GRC is designed for organizations where autonomous agents create findings, submit evidence, trigger scans, and interact with each other -- all under the same audit and governance framework that covers human activity.

The platform provides a unified control taxonomy that maps across 11 compliance frameworks, from SOC 2 and ISO 27001 to the EU AI Act and NIST AI RMF. Instead of maintaining separate control lists for each framework, Claw GRC normalizes controls into a single hierarchy and lets you manage evidence, policies, and risks against unified controls. When you satisfy a control for SOC 2, you automatically get credit toward overlapping requirements in ISO 27001, HIPAA, and every other mapped framework.

Every action taken in the system -- whether by a human clicking a button or an agent invoking an MCP tool -- is recorded in a tamper-evident audit log using cryptographic chain hashing. This means auditors can mathematically verify that no log entries have been modified or deleted, providing a level of audit integrity that is not possible with traditional append-only logs.

Key Differentiators

Agent-Native Architecture

Claw GRC treats AI agents as first-class participants in the compliance process. Agents register with the platform, receive trust scores based on their behavior, and interact through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The platform tracks every agent interaction and can enforce trust-based access controls -- an agent with a low trust score can be denied access to sensitive operations.

Multi-Framework Compliance

Rather than managing compliance framework by framework, Claw GRC uses a unified control taxonomy. The platform ships with 1,026 pre-mapped controls across 11 frameworks:

FrameworkControlsStandard Body
SOC 2 Type II64AICPA
ISO 27001:202293ISO/IEC
NIST 800-53 Rev 5323NIST
NIST CSF 2.0106NIST

PCI DSS 4.064PCI SSC
GDPR99EU
CCPA/CPRA23California
EU AI Act85EU
NIST AI RMF72NIST

Tamper-Evident Audit Trails

Every state change in the system is logged to an immutable audit table. Each log entry includes a chain_hash computed as:

chain_hash = SHA-256(previous_chain_hash + ":" + JSON(current_entry))

This creates a blockchain-like chain where modifying any historical entry would break the hash chain for all subsequent entries. Auditors can verify chain integrity with a single query.

Who Is Claw GRC For?

  • Security and compliance teams who need to manage multiple frameworks simultaneously without duplicating effort across overlapping requirements.
  • AI-native organizations deploying autonomous agents that need governance, audit trails, and trust management for agent-to-agent interactions.
  • Startups preparing for SOC 2 who want a modern platform that grows with them through ISO 27001, HIPAA, and beyond.
  • Regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government) that need provable audit integrity and strict multi-tenant data isolation.

Architecture Overview

Claw GRC is built as a microservices platform with four backend services, a Next.js frontend, and PostgreSQL with Row-Level Security for multi-tenancy:

  • API Gateway -- Handles authentication (Firebase JWT for humans, API keys for agents), rate limiting, and reverse proxy routing to backend services with circuit breakers.
  • Compliance Engine -- Framework CRUD, control mappings, evidence management, policies, risks, tickets, reports, and analytics.
  • Security Engine -- Security assessments, findings, and vulnerability scanners (dependency, configuration, secrets).
  • Agent Protocol -- Agent registration, MCP session management, trust scoring, and agent-to-agent communication with chain-hashed interaction logging.
